RECORD THE NUMBER OF REPORTS OF THE DELEGATION OF THE UFA RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF EYE DISEASES AT THE 17TH CONGRESS OF THE EUROPEAN SOCIETY OF VITREORETINAL SPECIALISTS "EURETINA" 2017
The delegation of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases took part in the 17th Congress of the European society of vitreoretinal specialists "EURETINA" 2017.
From 7 to 10 September 2017 in Barcelona (Spain) hosted the 17th Congress of the European society of vitreoretinal specialists "EURETINA" 2017. The delegation was represented by head distancing "of Vitreoretinal and laser surgery", MD, faizrakhmanova by Rinat Rustamovich, two scientific staff of this Department by Calanova Marat Rimovich and Zainoulline Rinat Mukhametovich, and doctor Salavatova Venus Fanisovna. The delegation of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases was presented 6 oral presentations and electronic posters 10, a record among all Russian and foreign institutions - participants of this forum. This high activity of our Institute such a representative Congress was repeatedly marked by the international community of ophthalmologists.
The Congress was held in international Convention center of Barcelona. In total, the conference was attended by about 3000 professionals in the area of the retina from different countries.
The scientific program of the conference included 11 main sessions, satellite symposia 30, 25 sessions of oral presentations 40 training courses, 4 training course of ophthalmic surgery.
Courses for ophthalmic surgery included: introduction to vitreoretinalsurgery, techniques of combined surgery with intraocular tamponade, methods of vitreoretinal surgery by changing the position of the lens of the eye, indications and methodology of intravitreal injection.
The main directions of work of the Congress covered the most common and severe pathology posterior to the eyeball, such as Central serous chorioretinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, anti-VEGF therapy, macular edema of different etiology, uveitis, diabetic retinopathy, myopia, different forms of retinal detachment, surgical treatment of vitreoretinal pathology.
Also held thematic exhibitions, which were submitted to diagnostic and surgical ophthalmic equipment from leading manufacturers.
In total, the Congress was presented 57 reports from the Russian Federation, including 19 verbal. The delegation of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases, submitted the following report:
- A comparative analysis of the combination of vitrectomy with ranibizumab versus vitrectomy as monotherapy in diabetic macular edema (Zainullin R. M.)
- Structural changes in the parameters of the optic nerve head and nerve fiber layer in patients with occlusion of the Central vein of the retina using swept-source technology (salavatova VF)
- A new approach to surgical treatment of hidden neovascularization (Faizrakhmanov R. R.)
- The effectiveness of the combined surgical treatment of patients with advanced stageproliferative diabetic retinopathy (Kalanov M. R.)
- The choice of tamponade of vitreous cavity in the suppression of hemorrhagic complications in patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy (Kalanov M. R.)
- Peeling of the inner limiting membrane in diabetic macular edema (Zainullin R. M.)
The topics of the papers included surgical treatment of complicated diabetic retinopathy, and advanced age-related macular degeneration, the use of new methods of diagnostics and surgery of the Central retina area.
The annual participation of employees of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases with reports in the international forum "EURETINA" indicates a high level of scientific research and recognition of the Institute of international ophthalmology community.
