20 February 2015 annual General meeting of the staff of the Institute, which was summed up 2014. Director of the UF Institute of GB, Professor M. M. Bikbov presented the report, highlighting in detail the results of the work in all spheres – scientific, clinical, financial, educational.

The report reflects the results of the performed researchTerskoy work, number of publications and presentations at Russian and international scientific-practicalfir conferences, congresses and symposia.
The Institute obtained very interesting results in the diagnosis and treatment of corneal diseases, vitreoretinalth surgery, glaucoma and cataract, which were introduced in the UK, India and Bulgaria. Despite the achievements in the field of research, M. M. Bikbov said that the modern conditions are forcing a new approach to solving the urgent problems facing ophthalmologists. Necessary to further increase the performance of researchers, a significant increase in the level of publications, the development of different areas of oftalmologicheskiyOh science.

M. M. Bikbov said that the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases is the only center in the country for the provision of specializedOh vysokotehnologichnyeNoi oftalmologicheskiyOh help. In recent years there has been a significant increase in the total number of operations in the Institute: if to 2006 in the Institute have been held annually, not more than 10 thousand, in 2014, has exceeded 34 thousand, the Number of vitreoretinalx operations increased more than in 10 times – from $ 427 to 4417.

According to who recommendations, target cataract surgery (cataract surgical rate – CRS) currently must be at least 3 operations on 1 thousand population. In The Republic OfBashkortostan practically all the work on the elimination of blindness from cataract performs Institute of eye diseases: in 2014 there were more than 13 thousand transactions, i.e. transactions of 3.2 per 1 thousand population. Due to the annual substantial increase in the number of operations for cataract, in Belarus there is a decrease in the number of people with disposable blindness.

The report also noted that the priority directions to increase the availability and quality of oftalmologicheskiyOh care to the population of the Republic are training, optimization of hospital beds and the development of hospital-zameŝaof existing technologies. Systematic training of specialists of the Republic and different regions of Russia and the opening of the training labfor school standards provide oftalmologicheskiyOh care.
