The Ufa Eye Research Institute in the 17th All-Russian Conference with International Participation «Modern Technologies in vitreoretinal pathology treatment», Sochi, March 22-23, 2019.
On March 22 -23 the All-Russian Conference with International Participation «Modern Technologies in vitreoretinal pathology treatment» was held. 1157 people from 22 regions of Russia, 8 CIS countries, Europe and Asia took part in the Conference. The most important issues of treatment and diagnosis of posterior eye segment diseases were discussed with leading Russian and world experts.
A film in memory of Benjamin Vasilyevich Volkov, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of Russian ophthalmology was shown at the Opening Ceremony.
One of the highlights of the Conference was the "Complex clinical cases" session , which was organized within 3D visualization. Many modern clinics are now equipped with 3D-systems. Their experience based on the a lot of clinical cases was presented at the event.
One of the most significant events within the Conference was the "Phiharmonia condition" symposium. One of its goals is to present a group of diseases that are hidden under this new term. These include central serous chorioretinopathy, polypoidy holodilnaya vasculopathy, retinitis pachygonidia epiteliopatia and others.
The participants were told about the achievements of laser surgery in the treatment of vascular and dystrophic retinal pathology and presented a modern view on the endophthalmitis treatment.
A video session on complex and unusual cases in vitreoretinal surgery was presented. After watching videos, participants together with experts discussed the tactics of the operation, and practicing ophthalmic surgeons received the necessary recommendations.
The Ufa Eye Research Institute was represented by:
· Sarvarov Denis Anasovich, Ophthalmologist of the 4-th microsurgical department
· Zainullin Rinat Mukhametovich, the acting head of vitreoretinal and laser surgery department
An oral report from the group of authors was presented: Bikbov M. M., Gilmanshin T. R., Zainullin R. M. "Epidemiology of diabetic retinopathy in the Republic of Bashkortostan".

The report aroused public interest and lively discussion.
An ophthalmological exhibition of new equipment and presentation of modern ophthalmic products were organized for the participants.
The conference was held in a friendly atmosphere and created new opportunities to demonstrate the achievements of the global ophthalmology, including the Ufa Eye Research Institute.
