24 Nov 2017 in Ufa research Institute of eye diseases starts scientific-practical conference "Modern technologies of treatment of diseases of the eye". This year the Symposium will be the final event held by the Institute under the auspices of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Ministry of health of Belarus.
"Highlight" of the conference will be a master class invited a surgeon from Italy, Dr. Paolo Bordin from hospital Legnago, province of Verona. One of the leading surgeons of Italy, Dr. Bordin was the first to come to Ufa, the Institute of eye diseases. He is known worldwide for its ophthalmic school and the possibilities of treatment of patients with diverse pathology of the eye. Dr. R. Bordin, will share their practical and theoreticalexperience: during the conference, online broadcasting "live surgery" of the operating institution, where he will demonstrate the ophthalmologists of our Republic the new technology of surgical treatment of patients with diabetic retinopathy. After surgery the participants will have the opportunity to discuss with the doctor about the level of surgical care in Italy, illustrative operations performed by colleagues from Italy, to exchange experience, to obtain the opinion of competent colleagues and ideas for professional development.
An extensive programme for ophthalmologists of the Republic prepared and the team of the Institute together with lecturers from leading clinics of Russia: lectures, workshops, satellite Symposium. Special attention will be paid to the treatment of diseases of the retina and vitreous, modern aspects of surgical and laser intervention, retinopathy of prematurity and diabetic retinopathy. During the master class Institute staff will provide the audience an opportunity to participate in the consideration of non-standard cases operations, comments and clarifications chosen surgeon tactics, exchange of views. In the program of the satellite Symposium included reports on the current trends in the treatment of glaucoma, cataracts, eye infections.
