July 13-14 2018, the delegation of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases consisting Hikmatullin R. I., Usenbaeva Y. V. participated in the 3rd European Congress of Young Ophthalmologists, which took place in the cultural capital of Poland - Krakow. The Congress was attended by over 500 young ophthalmologists from around the world (Japan, Spain, Brazil, Germany, Poland). The delegation of the Russian Federation was represented by 20 young ophthalmologists with 8 reports, 2 of which was represented by the specialists of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases.
Both young employees of the Institute participated in the national stage of competition of scientific works TROPHY (Théa inteRnational cOntest of clinical cases in PatHologies of the eYe) - International competition for young ophthalmologists representing clinical cases for the treatment of inflammation of ocular surface. The competition annually holds the international ophthalmic company Laboratoires Théa. In 2017, the competition was attended by 13 of ophthalmologists of Russia, and 3 of them - members of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases.
V. Usenbaeva reached the final, and Hikmatullin R. I. was the winner of the Russian stage of the competition. Both young professionals were invited to attend presentations at the 3rd European Congress of young ophthalmologists in the city of Krakow:
• Hikmatullin R. I. "Topography of the demarcation line after UV cross –linking of the cornea with progressive keratoconus" (co-authors: M. M. Bikbov, E. Usubov L., L. I. Khalimov, A. F. Zainetdinov)
• Usenbaeva V. Y. "Vitreoretinal surgery in patients with diabetic macular edema"(co-authors: M. M. Bikbov, R. fayzrakhmanov, R. M. Zainullin)
In addition, Hikmatullin R. I. will participate with a presentation at the conference of ophthalmologists "EVER - 2018" to compete for the main prize – a trip to the ARVO (Association of researchers in vision and ophthalmology) in 2019.
The scientific program of the Congress included all aspects of ophthalmology. Was presented 41 oral and 59 poster presentations. The first day was devoted to refractive surgery and corneal pathology, modern technologies of diagnostics and treatment of glaucoma, pathology of the retina and the lens. Special attention was paid to dry eye syndrome. On the second day were presented reports on oftalmoonkologii and ophthalmoplastic, training films.
The work of the Congress was filled with debate and discussion of the most important problems in ophthalmology. Educational program of the Congress and the whole trip in General was filled with young ophthalmologists experiences and plans to be actively involved in such scientific events.
