Director of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases Professor Mukharram Bikbov was awarded a diploma of the XIII Congress of the European society of vitreoretinal specialists EURETINA — one of the most recognized European ophthalmological associations. He was noted for his contribution to ophthalmology, and many years of fruitful activities aimed at developing scientific and clinical collaboration between East and West. A diploma and a check from the University of tübingen (Germany) for a large amount of money was awarded by the President of the Congress EURETINA-2013, Professor Gisbert Richard.
European Symposium highlighted the work of another ophthalmologist from Ufa — Guzel Bikbova. It submitted a joint report with the University of Chiba (Japan), with which the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases conducts research activities, was awarded the grant for innovative scientific work.

Every year it gathers more than four thousand ophthalmologists and ophthalmic surgeons from all over the world. The Russian ophthalmology Congress was represented by the delegation of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases.
