The staff of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases took an active part in the events dedicated to the Day of Russian science.

Opened the science Week in Sterlitamak on 4 February, where our ophthalmic surgeons in the course of the week gave a master class in phacoemulsification cataract for ophthalmic experts of city clinical hospital № 3. The result of this event was the 140 operations.
Institute staff has performed live on national television: on 5 February, senior researcher of scientific-educational Department of Absalyamov M. S. in the morning show "Salam", and on 6 Feb I head of microsurgery Department I. I. Khusnitdinov – channel BST. They talked about their scientific research, new advances in the treatment of patients with cataract and glaucoma. The emphasis of our colleagues have made on started by order of the acting Minister of health of Belarus away on operations in the eye care centers.
5-6 February in Ufa research Institute of eye diseases was organized scientific-educational platform "Myopia – a problem of XXI century" for students of the city – BRGY №1 im. R. Garipova. Over 50 students of 10th grade got acquainted with the work of the Institute, visited the hospital and the outpatient Department, saw the most modern devices for the diagnosis and surgical treatment of eye diseases, including femtosecond lasers. Employees of the scientific-educational Department was read to the students lectures about the history of the Institute and about the impact of gadgets on vision, conducted an orientation course for the WetLab system.

In these days held a contest about the dangers of computer technology on vision, announced at the end of the year for students. All the participants of this contest will receivediplomas and memorable gifts.

Ended science Week one of the most significant events in the life of every scientist – 8 February. Junior researcher of the Department of vitreoretinal and laser surgery Zinnatullin, A. A. became one of winners of competition on receiving a Grant from the Republic of Bashkortostan for young scientists. The young scientist presented the scientific project – the monograph "Optical coherence tomography of the retina. Clinical Atlas". The work is based on a survey of nearly 6 000 inhabitants of Ufa and Republic of Bashkortostan in the framework of the first in Russia and Eastern Europe population-based studies in ophthalmology conducted by the specialists of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases, together with scientists from Heidelberg University, Germany, Imperial College London and Singapore's National University. Grant in the amount of 1 million rubles was handed over by the Chairman of the State Assembly - Kurultay RB - Tolkachev K. B.
