Long-awaited and joyful celebration of childhood – New year. The smell of orange peel and fir branches fills us adults touching as waiting for the miracle. The most important miracle in this family holiday is that our little kids truly believe in magic, and with a sinking heart await the arrival of Santa Claus and snow Maiden, excitedly tell they prepared poems and, bursting into joyful laughter, whirling in the dance.

To put our young adults in this wonderful Christmas atmosphere, on December 23, Ufa research Institute of eye diseases was organized for the children and grandchildren of the staff Christmas party, which has become a wonderful tradition. This year new year party was held at the Bashkir drama theatre. M. Gafuri, where he gathered a record number of beautiful boys and girls. Fairytale characters headed by father frost and the snow Maiden entertained our kids conducted fun games, sung songs, a large sack of Santa Claus were given away to generous gifts.

A nice bonus was waiting for and adults. During the solemn meeting, the Director of the Institute M. M. Bikbov announced the names of the best employees of the year 2014. Winners in the nominations "the best doctor of the year", "best researcher", "best accountant", "best clinical Department", "the best research Department", etc. were employees and departments who demonstrate exceptional performance and received certificates and, importantly, prize money.

2014 Institute completes high rates in medical and scientific papers. Institute staff visited with working visit clinics in the UK, was presented more than 60 scientific papers, half of which on international symposiums and congresses. During the year held 4 conferences, including the annual international conference "East-West", which in total took part, nearly 1,300 ophthalmologists. In the past year the Institute was opened the laboratory WETLAB, which raises the profile of the Institute to a higher level of the ophthalmic community. All these aspects are a clear indicators of the successful development of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases, his close-knit and hardworking team.
