Training lab for the training of ophthalmologists was opened on the basis of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases
In the Ufa scientific research Institute of eye diseases has opened a modern laboratory WETLAB hands-on training for ophthalmologists in the technique of ultrasonic cataract surgery (phacoemulsification).
The laboratory is equipped with ultra-modern training sets. The complex includes operating microscopes, phacoemulsification the last generation, the video system monitor work of interns, a set of microsurgical instruments, high-quality consumables.
The project WETLAB at ophthalmologists the opportunity came in a short time to learn modern technology for the treatment of cataract. The training allows surgeons to acquire practical skills in synchronized control of the microscope and phacoemulsification with a simultaneous manipulation of the finest tools inside the eye with careful visual control of the leading ophthalmologists of the Institute.
As reported in the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases, the first cadets of the WETLAB were six men, who in the period of study lectures of highly qualified specialists of the Institute and invited speakers from cities of Russia to all sections and questions phacoemulsification. Lectures are accompanied by a stream "live surgery" of the operating research Institute. The practical training will be held on special simulators, which allow to mimic the real operation, but as the object of surgery used the eyes of animals.
The students have access to the operational units of the Institute, where they can observe operations.
