In Ufa will host the international conference on ophthalmic surgery "East–West–2016"
2 – 3 June 2016 in the capital of Bashkortostan will be held the VII international scientific - practical conference on ophthalmic surgery "East–West–2016". A forum dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases, will bring together thousands of leading experts, chief doctors eye clinics, heads of departments of eye diseases from different cities of Russia, CIS countries, West and East.
Plenary sessions, educational courses, satellite symposia will be held in the following areas: new technology in phacoemulsification of cataracts, treatment of diseases of the vitreous and retina; corneal pathology and refractive surgery, diagnostics and treatment of glaucoma; inflammatory eye disease; pediatric ophthalmopathology; injuries of the organ of vision; organization of ophthalmological care.
The program of the conference will be over 100 papers presented, the best of which will be awarded diplomas. Meetings will take place at the Bashkir state theatre of Opera and ballet simultaneously in three halls with simultaneous translation into English.
At the opening of the conference, June 2, for the first time held a ceremony of awarding a medal named after the first Director of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases, Professor V. P. Odintsov. In our country, this award is unique and it is awarded to scientists for significant achievements in ophthalmology. The first medal of the academic Council of the Institute was awarded by the famous German scientist Gregor Wollensak, who developed a technique called "corneal collagen Crosslinking".
Also for the first time on the forum, along with sessions on topical issues of ophthalmology, will host three lecture scientific session of the foreign ophthalmological societies of Germany, India and Japan, and for young scientists will be organized in interactive poster session. An integral part of the conference remains "live surgery" – live broadcasts of surgical demonstrations of the operating of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases performed by the leading Russian and Ufa surgeons.

Every year the conference publishes scientific and practical journal "Point of view. East-West". However, this year received more than 200 scientific papers in various areas of ophthalmology, which allowed us to publish three numbers of the journal. This confirms once again growing from year to year the prestige of the conference.
