Came to Ufa, the leading ophthalmologists of the East and West
V international scientific-practical conference on ophthalmic surgery "East-West-2014" started its work in Ufa Congress-hall on Thursday, June 5. The forum is organized by the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases and the Academy of Sciences RB.
More than 700 ophthalmologists from different regions of Russia, from Moscow and Saint-Petersburg to Chita, countries of near and far abroad traditionally gathered in Ufa to discuss the latest trends in the field of ophthalmology.
In the lecture session of the "West" is known to ophthalmologists from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, USA talk about their achievements in the field of treatment of eye diseases. "Live surgery" — starts a demonstration of the operations for the conference participants from operating the Ufa Institute was held on the newest equipment, which is recently established here by specialists from Germany. To the new femtosecond laser facility leading surgeons of the Ufa research Institute, Italy, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg conducted a surgery on the cornea of the eye. The device allows to perform operations on the lens. It is the only one in Russia, which is an innovation in modern ophthalmology.
Now Ufa ophthalmologists are implementing new technology to treat patients with diabetes, in particular, to prevent the development of diabetes eyes.

Each year, a regular participant of the Ufa conferences is Professor of German Ingrid Kreissig. She represents the University of Heidelberg and is engaged in research and practical developments in the treatment of detachment of the retina with a team of renowned ophthalmologists in the world. One of the founders of vitreoretinal surgery considers the training of ophthalmologists should be conducted in different world communities and various international platforms. With the help of Ingrid Kreissig in Germany, their knowledge increased more than 300 ophthalmologists.
The retina has no nationality, I repeat it in all his speeches. All the doctors of the world should be one big family, combining and developing new treatment technology. Without such a joint dialogue we will not be able to share our achievements and possible errors, — says Ingrid Kreissig.
