For the first time in the Republic of Bashkortostan in Ufa research Institute of eye diseases carried out femtosecond laser assisted penetrating keratoplasty - corneal transplantation with a femtosecond laser VICTUS. This is one of the latest achievements of modern ophthalmology.

2.jpgFemtosecond laser assisted keratoplasty has several advantages, the most important of which is to automate the process, reducing the manipulation of the use of mechanical tools.

With a laser it is possible to achieve the absolute conformity of shape and size of the graft and the bed due to the formation of the incision complex profile with clearly defined and identical parameters in the donor cornea and the recipient cornea.

The result of this operation, the deformation of the cornea after healing of the graft is minimized, significantly increases the optical effect of the operation at the reduction of terms of rehabilitation patients.

The introduction of new technology has greatly expanded the indications for corneal transplantation.
