An elderly man got his eyesight back in Ishimbay
Having lost his sight due to cataraсt six years ago, Anatoly Kupriyanov underwent free cataract surgery in February by the doctors of the Ufa Eye Research Institute who had come to Ishimbay.
Now he can see, though only with one eye. The second eye will be operated in early April. Thanks to the medical officers Ramila Gainetdinova and Gulnaz Nabiullina, Anatoly Sergeyevich and other recipients of services of Department of In-patient Social Services for Senior Citizens and Disabled People were consulted by the ophthalmologist and sent to the surgery.
According to the Head of the Department Lyudmila Levochkina, elderly and disabled people had to be brought to the Ufa Eye Research Institute for surgical treatment until recently, and it was very difficult. There is no such need now. Now cataract patients get operations right in Ishimbay. Over the past two years, six service recipients have been able to see the world.
