27 October 2017, the Institute held a satellite Symposium "New possibilities in the treatment of glaucoma and postoperative inflammation," which was devoted to the most topical issues of ophthalmology.
At the Symposium there were presentations on the approaches to conservative and surgical treatment of glaucoma. So, head. the Department of scientific research UV research Institute GB, M. D. Babushkin A. E., presented the report on "Neuroprotective therapy in glaucoma", head. I microsurgical otd. UV NII GB PhD of Khusnitdinov I. – "Management of patients with Ahmed valve in various forms of glaucoma." Ophthalmologist Haji Inara Fikrat gizi from the National ophthalmology center named. Z. Aliyeva (Baku, Azerbaijan) reported on the results of implantation of the Ahmed valve in neovascular glaucoma in patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy.
