The participation of the delegation of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases in the scientific-practical conference "Topical issues of ophthalmology",
28 April 2017 in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, on the basis of the National Ophthalmology Center hosted a scientific-practical conference "Topical issues of ophthalmology" dedicated to 94th anniversary of academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
At the conference, which was attended by experts from Azerbaijan, Russia (St-Petersburg, Ufa), was considered the most urgent problems of modern ophthalmology.
The delegation of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases, headed by a Director, corresponding member Q. Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Professor M. M. Bikbov at the invitation of the National Ophthalmology Center visited the city of Baku and the national Center, and took an active part in the conference.
During the meeting Professor M. M. Bikbov: and REC Director they. Z. Aliyeva Professor Kasimov E. M., a decision was taken on bilateral cooperation institutions and exchange of experience, including in the sphere of postgraduate education.
In the framework of the scientific program of the conference Professor Bikbov M. M. presented a keynote dedicated to the crosslinking of the cornea in terms of its evolutionary development. Due to the wide popularization of this method worldwide, including in Azerbaijan, the report aroused great interest. Leading researcher of the Department of surgery of the cornea and lens, PhD Usubov E. L. reported the results of studies devoted to femtosecond laser technology, on the theme: "Modern stage of development of keratoplasty and cataract Surgery with femtosecond laser support." Wide application of femtosecond laser technology in routine practice doctors of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases when performing keratoplasty and cataract removal is not indifferent to Azerbaijani colleagues was the reason for heated debates and positive feedback about our work.
Visit the ancient land, walking through the narrow streets of "Old town",tours of favourite places of tourists and connoisseurs of Soviet cinema, which immortalized the filming of such films as "Amphibian Man", "the diamond arm", also left a lot of positive emotions.
The conference and the whole trip overall, filling us with experiences and plans for further close cooperation and active participation in such academic events.
