Director of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases, Professor M. M. Bikbov briefed the German guests with the history of the Institute and the clinical results in recent years. M. M. Bikbov has paid great attention to the cooperation between ophthalmologists Institute and German colleagues, which has been ongoing for over 10 years and has significant results in the field of diagnosis and treatment of patients with diseases of cornea, retina etc. Method of telemedicine is the treatment of children with refractive amblyopia with the help of computer programs that allows to obtain good results. For the first time in Russia jointly with the Heidelberg University (Germany) and Imperial College London (UK) research project "Kusapin" to identify eye disease in the population of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
A tour of the offices and a modern equipped operating rooms of the Institute made a great impression on the German guests.
During the meeting, which was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, the sides discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation between the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases and eye care service of Saxony.
