Ufa research Institute of eye diseases held an Interactive career guidance site of the "World of ophthalmology"
26-27 October 2018 in Ufa is held the VIII all-Russian Festival of science. In the framework of this festival Ufa research Institute of eye diseases organizes several events.
On October 25, 2018 at the Institute was an Interactive career guidance platform "World of ophthalmology". Participants in the workshops were more than 40 students from 11 classes with a medical slant of the Bashkir Republican gymnasium-boarding school № 1 named Rami Garipova.
Director of the Institute, Professor M. M. Bikbov welcomed the young guests and briefed them with the most relevant results. Acquainted with a brief history, high school students are surprised and proud to know that the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases is the oldest scientific research Institute of ophthalmic profile in Russia, which is already only a few years will celebrate its 100-year anniversary.
Students with great interest got acquainted with the exhibition of scientific products of the Institute, which in an entertaining and accessible form introduced the head of the scientific-production Department, C.b.N. Khalimov A. R. Senior researcher of scientific-educational Department, Ph. D., M. S. Absalyamov showed students and teachers of the gymnasium operating the Institute, equipped at the level of world standards. He briefly introduced modern ophthalmic devices, including Femto-laser systems, and described their application in surgical treatment of diseases of the eye. Was shown to the students of a small sequences of operations in case of cataract, corneal pathology. Head of scientific-educational Department, PhD Sagadatova N. M. read the students a lecture on "How to save the sight in modern high-tech world?".
The pupils familiarized with the video system monitoring the operating, got a clear idea about how currently the surgical treatment of diseases of the eye. They then visited the consultative polyclinic Department of the Institute, where they were presented peculiarities of work of the service of the Institute and shown the most modern diagnostic equipment. Schoolchildren and their teachers had the opportunity to investigate performanceof refraction, and some of them were given recommendations for follow-up full ophthalmologic examination.
In conclusion, the visit of Professor M. M. Bikbov told the students of the gymnasium-boarding-school that the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases holds a contest among high school students to design "Gadgets and vision", revealing the influence of gadgets on vision. This contest is a unique opportunity for creative people to implement their ideas. Projects can be presented in the form of videos, comics, life hacking, etc. to participate in the contest all students aged 14 to 18 years. Participation in the competition is free, the number of projects from one participant is not limited. The contest will be summed up to the Day of Russian science – February 8, 2019 the main criterion in the selection – creativity. The winner will receive a prize – iPhone XS. At the end of the event all students of the school. Rami Garipova received gifts and made a joint photo with the organizers. Everyone left with regret that so quickly ended the interactive site, which left a lot of "behind the scenes".

And probably some of them will dedicate their lives to one of the most innovative and exciting specialties of medicine – ophthalmology.
