Ufa research Institute of eye diseases became part of the Asian ophthalmic epidemiology consortium.
With the 2015 Ufa research Institute of eye diseases holds the first in Russia ophthalmological and epidemiological study of the population in the framework of the project Ural Eye and Medical Study, and 2018 was the beginning of the project Ural Study of Very Old.
With the 2015 Ufa research Institute of eye diseases holds the first in Russia ophthalmological and epidemiological study of the population in the framework of the project Ural Eye and Medical Study, and 2018 was the beginning of the project Ural Study of Very Old. In the course of these studies, we conducted a study of the prevalence, causes and determine methods of diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases in the population over the age of 40 and 85 years living in the Kirov district of Ufa and Karmaskalinsky region of Bashkortostan.
The results of these studies have received international recognition, as evidenced by the reception of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases in members of the Asian ophthalmic epidemiology consortium, which was held 8.02.2018 in Hong Kong (China). The consortium was held in the framework of the Congress of the Asia Pacific Academy of ophthalmology. The consortium is an influential organization eye care centre in Singapore. The consortium consists of ophthalmologists from almost all Asian countries: China, Japan, Singapore, India, South Korea, Australia and etc. Of all the eye care institutions of the Russian Federation, including located in the Asian part of our country, the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases had the honor to become a full member of this organization.
In the course of the negotiations the President of the consortium, head of epidemiological Department of the Singapore national eye centre Professor Ching-Yu Cheng expressed his desire to familiarize himself with the researches conducted by the staff of the Institute and to make a presentation at the International conference on ophthalmology "East-West" which will be held in Ufa in June 2018G.
