Participation in the fourth scientific-practical conference "the Leuven retina meeting", Leuven (Belgium).
From 9 to 11 March, 2017 in one of the oldest universities in Europe, in the University of Louvain, famous throughout the world, hosted a conference on problems of the retina. Ufa research Institute of eye diseases was represented by the head. 4 microsurgical Department, PhD Akhtyamov K. N. The conference was attended by over 100 people from different countries. Among the Russian participants of conference were representatives of Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Krasnodar, Murmansk, Omsk. The meeting began with a live surgery from the hospital UZLeuven. The conference included sections with oral presentations by the representatives of Belgium, Britain, Germany, Italy, USA, France, Switzerland. The lecturers held a discussion of different opinions in the treatment of certain retinal diseases. The format of the conference included a significant allocation of time for interactive debates and questions from the audience to each panel of experts. The participants took an active part in the discussions. The reports were dedicated to the surgical treatment of the macula, traumatic retinal detachment, endoscopic surgery, treatment of macular edema, radiation therapy for intraocular tumors. In addition, separate reports were devoted to the latest imaging techniques of the retina, including intraoperative OST.
The exhibition featured new ophthalmic equipment from leading manufacturers.The participation of specialists Ufrii eye diseases in international conferences allows to increase their professional level, to get acquainted with modern methods of treatment of eye diseases and to exchange experience with Russian and foreign colleagues.
