February 14-15, Cyprus, Paphos. International seminar "new technologies in ophthalmology"
Employees of the Institute: head of the I Department of microsurgery, ophthalmologist of the highest category, PhD Absalyamov Minulla the Sharafutdinovich and head of the III microsurgical Department, doctor-ophthalmologist of highest category, PhD Rustem Abdullin, repovich participated in the international seminar "new technologies in ophthalmology", which was organized by Rayner (UK) and the Russian firm Bisika-Em. The workshop was also attended by ophthalmologists from different regions of Russia – from Kaliningrad to Khabarovsk, as well as from Greece and Italy.
Our ophthalmologists studied the use of aspheric, toric, multifocal and additional IOL Rayner firms in unusual situations: in cataract surgery, combined with pathology of the cornea (the effects of trauma, dystrophy, keratoconus, etc.) and with different refractive disorders.
This issue was devoted to the reports of Dr. MiltosBalidis (eye clinic in Thessaloniki, Greece), N. I. Senchenko (Irkutsk MNTK "eye microsurgery"), A. A. Kasyanov (Moscow, scientific research Institute GB RAMS), etc. All the reports sparked an interesting and lengthy discussion.
Dr. MarinaModesti (Rome, Italy) reported on the results of a study of diagnostic possibilities of a new ophthalmic ultrasound diagnostic system HiScan (OPTIKON). In addition, FAC-M held a presentation of viscoelastics series Eyefill company CromaPharma (Austria), disposable knives UniqueEdge (USA) and titanium tool Duckworht&Kent.
In addition to the scientific session, the programme included acquaintance with the historical and architectural sights of Paphos town.
